How do you study with us?
When you contact us, Adi, the school’s founder and director, will be happy to receive you. She will check if you have any previous knowledge of the language, ask what brings you to us and what you would like to learn. During the first lesson we will tell you everything you want to know about our lesson plans and our Ulpan. The teacher will check your level of Hebrew and recommend a group or individual lesson plan that will suit you to start studying. If you choose to continue with us, we will complete your registration as a student at Ulpan Adi. Immediately after completing the registration, you can expect experiential and meaningful learning that will bring quick progress and improve your Hebrew.

How do I know what my level of Hebrew is?
In the first lesson we conduct a special test for the student that we have developed based on the teaching method that we use in Ulpan Adi. The assessment examines the student’s level of knowledge and ability in Hebrew language skills.

How do we teach online?
We teach using the Zoom platform. Learning is comfortable, in a warm and supportive environment, at your convenience. Whether an individual or group lesson, the teacher is attentive to your requests and questions. Each lesson starts with a quick repeat of the previously learnt material and then presents a new subject, which includes practice. We see the importance of developing communication skills, and in each lesson we combine a dialogue around various topics in current affairs or personal experience. Our curriculum is adapted to online learning and to the level of Hebrew of our students. The learning experience is fascinating and fun, sharing a common space from home with friends from everywhere. Lessons are accompanied by a practice hour that we offer to our students, for repetition and practice, to establish the material being studied or for the purpose of expanding, deepening and developing personal abilities. In addition, students can receive a recording of the lesson and hold asynchronous learning in parallel with the synchronous learning that takes place during the lesson itself.

What are the benefits of a group lesson?
A group lesson reduces the cost of tuition, but it is not its only advantage. We believe in the power of the group to help learn, progress and reach goals in a short time. The group dynamics evokes new learning processes, curiosity and openness. It is challenging, interesting and fun. The group is a supportive framework for learning. It also expands and diversifies practice options.

Why is it important to study at least twice a week?
Learning a new language is an ongoing process, so we recommend classes at least twice a week. Thus we can guarantee conditions for creating continuity. Learning a language takes time to gain an understanding and internalization of new linguistic structures, to acquire an active and accessible vocabulary for the correct use of speech, reading and writing. Passive knowledge by comprehension as well as the ability to speak fluently and write freely. During the course you will acquire establish and strengthen your command of the language, and the ability to use it in daily life, in your field of work and in your socio-cultural space. The more continuous the process, the more effective learning is and that provides good results in language acquisition.

What is the teaching method in Ulpan Adi?
The method of study in our school is called the “Keys” method, it was developed and formulated by the director of the Ulpan, Adi Berger Ram. It is based on many years of accumulated experience in teaching within the frameworks of the Adult Education Division of the Ministry of Education. Our teaching method divides study topics into areas and levels. The curriculum is based on the textbook “Keys to Hebrew” authored by Adi and other online content developed and built by the Ulpan’s teaching staff. We believe in dynamic and flexible curriculum that strives to meet the needs of our students. Our courses are tailored to the levels and study objectives of each individual. The method is proven by high achievements and great satisfaction of our students. What is unique about it is that it is very modular and integrates the fields of language and culture.
